In 1998 it became an independent non-profit trust. In 1999 a new clinic was built and fully equipped. The IST Clinic cooperates closely with various hospitals and selected specialists, as well as with a physiotherapist, psychologists and a psychiatrist. Membership In principle the health services are primarily for members of the IST Medical Scheme Clinic. Non-members certainly will not be refused treatment and be attended to on an incidental basis. However, in order to make full use of the clinic facilities, including 24 hours standby emergency services, membership of the clinic is strongly advisable. Other advantages of membership include consultation by appointment, preferential treatment, use of the antenatal and baby care clinics. Also monthly billing for services rendered will apply instead of cash payment at the time of consultation.
Membership information Services The IST Clinic provides an extensive range of primary health care services including psychotherapy, antenatal and baby care clinics, ultrasound imaging, laboratory services, pathology services, acute first aid care management as well as elective minor surgery, a pharmacy and a two-bed admission facility.
