Yes, the branching quests and options make for an engaging way of shaping your narrative, but they also stripped Odyssey of some the cinematic flair and quality that the AC series is known for. Were there no need for the dialogue branches, we’d have something more traditional because there’s be more room for scripted set pieces. I only feel fatigued when I’m doing side content just to do it. I refuse to buy the XP boosts, but for the most part i haven’t felt the need to do side content to progress, and don’t feel fatigued by it then. Odyssey has so many different activities between naval play, sunken treasure, exploration, forts/outposts, tombs, etc. Yes, almost everything is the same - the towns, islands, NPCs, etc. Right now the bloat of content lacks enough variety to be be consistently engaging and really disrupts the flow and pacing of the narrative. BIG problem pls help me Steam says to install again my AC Odyssey and then now when i click to play it needs to be updated 42 gb again! It is simply huge. :( This happens in my other games too, i just install again and no updated needed, but this time there is update needed again. It's longggg. That way you can focus more on the main missions without the "day in the life of a mercenary for hire" vibe that the side missions give off. I really wish this had just been another 9 hour game I could play multiple times like AC 2. I'm 85 hours in and still having a tonne of fun, with old school AC games it would have been beaten in 15-20 hours and traded in. At least it used to be optional for the most part but more and more they are forcing it to so that they can sell time saver micro transactions. Steam says to install again my AC Odyssey and then now when i click to play it needs to be updated 42 gb again! Wow this never happenes before when steam local file in my games library tried to re-install the game and i dont need to update. They are great but too much mindless grind just to drag a game out. The bigger the world, the better. Of course there's a big qualitative difference between AC tailing missions and Odyssey side missions, but they can sometimes feel like speedbumps if you just want to do the next part of the story. I’m kinda right in the middle with this.
Then tell Steam to install the game again. But i fear that that won't happen before they have completely turned this franchise into something unrecognizable. I think it’s only reasonable to acknowledge that many of the previous instalments sidequests were also the same copied and pasted tasks or targets. Apologies for the wall of text, just very passionate about this series. The last thought I had is that this actually makes the newer games more like the orginal AC, in that there's mandatory (often monotonous) side content that you're required to do before moving on with the story. My only hope is that they go back to something more traditional.

Wow this never happenes before when steam local file in my games library tried to re-install the game and i dont need to update. Whereas the earlier games featured way less variety and were bloated by pointless collecribles. In my opinion, it’s really no different from TW3. But that's not enough to redeem this change. It's very expansive, but if u look at it like that, then RDR2 and BotW are no bit different. For me, the best result would be a middle ground. You are what's called a fan boy then lol. Forts ,Caves and Outposts are copy pasted everywhere. I'm hating myself for writing this, but if you want more of a classic AC experience the best solution would probably be to buy one of those exp boosters so you don't need to do as many side missions. now it needs to be update again.. i purchased so much from the ubisoft store and now i need to play odyssey from scratch?!!
well i'm in that situation where i just bought the game this past weekend and i'm obsessed with it. The map is too big? I really don't see how you can justify saying that the old games were more diverse. If it still gives you trouble, you may need to delete files from the \steamapps\downloading folder.
